On July 1, 1914, a fully career fire department was established and operated out of four firehouses. Headquarters, built in 1904, was located at 647 Bloomfield Avenue until we were relocated to 1 Pine Street in 2003 to the new Headquarters. Station 1, built in 1905, was located at 95 Walnut Street until that too was relocated to the new Headquarters. Station 2, built in 1901, is located at 588 Valley Road and is still occupied today. Also built in 1901 is Station 3, located at 151 Harrison Avenue and like Station 2, it is still occupied by career firefighters today.
